iPhone 5c was considered to be a completely different device as compared to the rest of the products Apple offers.
Before iPhone 5c was officially launched, it sent shivers across many enthusiasts with every single leak of its images. It was the the first of its kind to have a plastic glossy body, as Apple has always been in to providing a specific metal and glass like classy bodies to all of its products. Let it be a MacBook, an iPhone, and iPad or an expensive big iMac, all of the Apple products have a special premium quality metalilic built. But after the colorful iPods first generation, it has been quite a while that Apple has sticked with a particular greyish, whitish and blackish theme for it’s products. Now, iPhone 5C seems to be a refreshing change. But is it all that it offers?
A Little Review of iPhone 5C Features and What it Offers?
iPhone 5C features nothing off the hook in the specifications. It has the same specs as those of iPhone 5. The difference comes in the body. iPhone 5C offers plastic glossy bodies with different colors to choose from. This gives it a sporty, funky and young look.
However, if you own an iPhone 5 already, then this isn’t the smartphone you wish to upgrade to. You need to go for an iPhone 5S as it has the latest specs. However, we believe that iPhone 5C doesn’t stand for an iPhone that is cheap. It stands for communication. Apple is basically providing something that can suit the needs for young people having different tastes and colors. If we look at the color scheme it has for this series, it is quite evident that Apple is feeling a little threatened from the vast colors provided by Nokia Lumia series, the same strategy also followed by Google in its Moto X series. If this strategy works out for Apple, we hope to see a colorful iPad and an iPod, or God knows a MacBook as well.
iPhone 5C Drop Test Results
In a drop down test conducted by Joshua Vergara on iPhone 5S vs iPhone 5. In this test, Apple’s iPhone 5S survived with minor scratches but no spider web on the screen. On the other hand, the newly introduced plastic body iPhone 5C faced the music and had a fully developed spider web on its main screen after being dropped from the same height as that of the iPhone 5S. So the aluminum body and high end metallic materials of the iPhone 5S proved to be more reliable than the plastic of iPhone 5C. Still, it’s a price versus quality trade off.
In terms of performance, both the iPhones offer us with reliable performance. The rest depends on your own choice. If you want something funky and colorful to use, with the latest iOS 7, iPhone 5c is exactly what you need.
